Practice for Neurostimulation Berlin

Specialising in non-invasive brain stimulation for Alzheimer's dementia, Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions. Outpatient, without surgery, without medication.

Our Practice

Conditions such as Alzheimer's dementia or Parkinson's disease are not yet curable. However, research is working intensively on developing new treatment options. Non-invasive neurostimulation methods are among the most promising approaches in this development. We have specialised our practice in these methods.

Treatment Focus Areas

Alzheimer's Dementia

TPS is the world's first approved device-based therapy for treating Alzheimer's in the central nervous system. Clinical studies show stabilisation or improvement of cognitive functions in a portion of patients.

Parkinson's Disease

TPS and TMS are used as complementary therapy alongside medication for Parkinson's. Studies point to positive effects on motor function, mood and overall quality of life.

Depression

TMS has been clinically established for years in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression. tDCS is used additionally. Both procedures act non-invasively on the brain areas involved in mood regulation.

Other Conditions

Neurostimulation procedures are used for a number of other neurological and psychiatric conditions. Contact us - we will advise you whether a treatment is suitable for your situation.

What is Neurostimulation?

Neurostimulation refers to procedures that specifically influence the activity of nerve cells - without surgery, without incisions, without medication. Depending on the method, focused ultrasound waves, magnetic fields or electrical impulses are used.

Several of these methods are used in our practice. Which method makes sense depends on the diagnosis, the stage of the disease and individual factors - we discuss this after a thorough assessment.

Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS)

TPS works with focused ultrasound waves that are directed through the skull into deeper brain areas. It has been approved as a CE medical device for the treatment of Alzheimer's dementia since 2018.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

TMS uses magnetic fields to influence the activity of superficially located brain areas. The procedure has been established for decades and is used, among other things, for depression and neurorehabilitation.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)

tDCS modulates the excitability of nerve cells through weak direct currents applied via electrodes on the scalp. The procedure is well tolerated and suitable for regular home use - patients can perform the stimulation independently at home after medical instruction.

Features of Neurostimulation

Without Medication

The procedures act directly on neural structures. They do not replace accompanying medication therapy, but in many cases complement it meaningfully.

Non-invasive and Outpatient

No surgery, no incision, no anaesthesia. Treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis at our practice - usually in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.

Clinically Tested Procedures

The methods used are CE-certified or have been established for years. Efficacy and tolerability are documented in clinical studies.

Medically Led Treatment

Consultation and treatment are carried out by medical personnel. We take time for your questions and accompany you through the entire treatment process.

New Treatment Pathways

The human brain has a capacity for regeneration that we have long underestimated. For many neurological conditions, new treatment pathways are opening up today that were unthinkable just a few years ago.

I see it as my task to follow these developments closely and make them accessible to my patients - based on the available evidence and with realistic expectations.

Dr. Tim Schwarz

Dr. Tim Schwarz leads our practice. He has specialised in the non-invasive treatment of neurological conditions and trained at the university hospitals in Heidelberg and Munich. He specialised in this field because he is convinced that these procedures can open up real perspectives for many patients - even where other treatments no longer help.

Before every treatment, a structured indication assessment is carried out. We explain openly for whom a procedure is suitable - and for whom it is not.
